Scientific Plastics’ reputation as a high quality manufacturer building to your specifications has made us a trusted partner providing spill containment, acid venting systems, casework components, acid neutralization tanks, and polymer lab sinks and faucets to the Lab Equipment industry for more than 60 years.  Whether in the design phase of a new lab; or upgrading an existing lab, Scientific Plastics products will improve lab safety and protect your lab from corrosive chemicals.  Our components are all PVC free helping contribute to LEED certification.  Many Scientific Plastics products are made using rotational molding.  Why rotational molding?  Simple, this process creates a one-piece product with no mechanical joints that may risk leaking.  Another feature of roto-molding is that all corners are coved which allows all chemical residue to be compley cleaned.  Additionally, because we are protecting your lab from corrosive, acidic chemicals, Scientific plastics uses only virgin material in its products. Why virgin material? First, to prevent any cross-contamination in our raw material stream that could lead to a chemical reaction or leak. Scientific Plastics recycles 99% of its polyethylene trimmings with a trusted local recycler.  And second, Scientific Plastics Take Back Program provides an end of life plan for all its’ materials.  How does Scientific Plastics Take Back Program work?  Easy, either send your products back to us; we will put it into our recycle stream and issue you an End of Life Certificate.   Or call us and we will locate a recycler in your area and certify the material as polyethylene or polypropylene for proper recycling.   This contributes to achieving LEED certification for your project if you are building a new lab and keeps our products out of the landfill when the lab is de commissioned or torn down all together. Scientific Plastics participates with SEFA to establish standards for scientific furniture and our products meet ASTM 1412 for corrosive waste.  We also have many products which meet ADA standards for use and accessibility.
