Roots oxidative damage assay
Malondialdehyde (MDA) content was measured using the thiobarbituric acid (TBA) test as described by Jambunathan (2010). Histones were isolated as described by Wu et al. (2011), and the level of H2AX phosphorylation (γ-H2AX) in the histone samples was analyzed using a plant γ-H2AX enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kit (48 T, Hengyuan, Shanghai, China).
