Anritsu’s InterferenceHunter MX280007A is a quick and reliable way to find single or multiple sources of interference. The ability to work with multiple signal sources, reflections, RF shadows, drifting signals, bursty signals, and multi-path distinguish the InterferenceHunter MX280007A from more expensive solutions targeted at single fixed frequency interference sources.

The InterferenceHunter’s post-capture analysis capability allows users to modify search parameters without re-driving the route. This allows re-analysis of the captured data as well as consulting with experts.

The InterferenceHunter works with the broad array of Anritsu’s handheld spectrum analyzers, providing interference hunting and spectrum clearing capability from 9 kHz to 54 GHz. By utilizing Anritsu’s proprietary interference finding algorithms, the InterferenceHunter MX280007A software will quickly determine the position estimate of an interfering signal. Once sufficient measurements are accumulated in Area Scan™ mode, the InterferenceHunter MX280007A software can create a heat map indicating the position of the interference source. The heat map becomes smaller as more measurements are taken, refining the signal location estimate.

The Anritsu InterferenceHunter MX280007A is designed to locate interference signals operating anywhere in the frequency bａnd covered by the spectrum analyzer. An off-the-shelf magnet mount omnidirectional antenna whose range covers the frequencies of interest is required.

Maps

Maps used for the interference hunting software can be embedded in the application using OpenStreetMap™.

Users can develop their own map with OpenStreetMap using these simple to use instructions.

Once maps are made, they can then be incorporated into the MX280007A software by dragging the map file on to the interference hunting software application window. Maps can also be added by clicking on the Settings tab at the top of the MX280007A software and selecting Map Source/Open Source Maps.

Alternatively, tablets with cellular modems attached for internet access can download Google Maps or Maps for their application.

Instructions for Making Maps

Use the OpenStreetMap web site to download your map. Once on the OpenStreetMap site:

In the search box, located in the upper left, type in the city that you are looking for. Click on Go.
After you you have selected the desired area from the displayed list, click "Export" located at the top left corner of the page above the search box.
To the left of the screen, below the Export button, click on "Overpass API".
The map data will be downloaded to your PC.

There are two ways to get the map into InterferenceHunter:

Click, drag, and drop the map file onto InterferenceHunter. The file will be converted and opened, ready for use. (Cannot drop on top of Google Maps.)

Open the downloaded map from the InterferenceHunter File menu.

When you open in InterferenceHunter software, a dialog box pops up to enter the city and country. Then the map is converted to our required format and opened in the software program.

The converted files are saved so that the next time you open that location, no additional formatting is needed.
